how to CREATE AN INTERCONNECT LINK CIRCUIT FAULT REPORT

An interconnect link circuit is a type of private circuit which connects two telecom suppliers (for example, BT and a mobile operator) together.

 


Notes:
1. To utilise this functionality you will require additional permissions on your eCo.Repair account.
2. The fault report options displayed will correspond to your access permissions.


To create an Interconnect Link Fault Report form enter the following:

 

1.      A valid interconnect link circuit number.

 

 

2.      Confirm both the preliminary checks.

 

 

3.      Select the Accept button.

 

Note:  If you do not confirm both settings in the Preliminary Checks window a warning message will be displayed, see CREATING A FAULT REPORT, how to CREATE A PRIVATE CIRCUIT FAULT REPORT.

 

 

While eCo.Repair is searching and validating the interconnect link circuit details relating to the fault number entered, the following window is displayed.

 

 

 

After your Interconnect Link Circuit has been validated:

 

 

 

Note:  If a recently closed fault exists for this circuit the View button is displayed on the Circuit Details window.

 

4.     Select the View
button.

 

5.     Select the Close button to return to the Circuit Status/Details windows.

 

 

6.      Select the Continue button to create a fault report.

 If you select the Cancel button you will be returned to the Create Fault
 Report
window.

 

 

 

Note:  Your contact details are pre-populated from your Fault Report.

 

 

7.      Enter your (Diagnostic Assistance / Restoration contact details):

 

§         Contact name.

§         Contact telephone number.

§         Out of hours telephone number of your contact.

 

 

8.      Enter a fault reference number.

 

 

9.      From the drop down menus select Yes or No to the questions:

 

§         Has the faulty circuit(s) ever been brought into service?

§         Has the fault been proved off your network?

 

 

10.  From the drop down menu:

 

§        Select one of the fault symptoms:




11.  Enter supporting information.

 

 

12.  From the drop down menus select Yes or No to the questions:

 

§         Does the faulty circuit(s) carry C7 or STP signalling?

§         Has the agreed level of service been severely degraded as a result of this
fault or is it likely to be in the next 24 hours?

§      Will co-operation be made available to assist BT to diagnose and restore the
fault outside normal working hours?

 

 

13.  Enter:

 

§         A fault description.

§         Additional useful information.

 

 

14.  If you wish to create a Fault Report for another interconnect circuit
affected by the same fault symptoms, select the check box.

 

Notes:

1.      If you check this box the Multiple Fault Report will be displayed for completion
after the Accept button has been selected.

15.  If you select the Accept button the following Fault Report Form window is
displayed.

 

If you select  the Help button the Interconnect Link Fault Details Help/Advise information is displayed.

If you select the Cancel button you will be returned to the Create Fault Reportwindow.

 

 

 

 

16.  Select the Submit button.

 If you wish to edit the details you have just entered select the Edit button and
 the Fault Report Form window will be re-displayed.

 

 

While your Interconnect Link Circuit fault report is being created the Submit Report window is displayed:

 

 

 

Once your Interconnect Circuit fault report has been created the Fault Report Summary window appears:

 

 

 

17.  You can either:

 

§       Request a print of the submitted report by selecting the Print button.

§      Exit the Interconnect Link Circuit create fault process by selecting the Done button.  You will be returned to the eCo.Repair window displaying the Create Fault Report screen.

Multiple Fault Reports

This window will be displayed if you have checked the Create a report for another circuit(s) affecting this fault?  box.

 

 

 

Enter:

 

1.      The circuit numbers.

 

 

2.      The reference details.

 

Notes:

1.    The details entered in the previous form will be applied to each of the additional
circuits that a fault is being reported against.

2.    The reference may be changed at this stage for any circuit if a different
reference is required.

 

 

3.      Select the Enter button.
